The Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge is located right on the top of the mountain, a couple of seconds from the actual ruins themselves and thus enjoys a prime position within the sanctuary.

A three and a half hour train journey from Cusco will take you to the colourful Machu Picchu Town. There you will board a bus for the 30 minute drive up the mountain to Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge and the ruins.   

There are a variety of ways to get to Machu Picchu from Cusco. These include:   

• By train to Machu Picchu Town. Allow three and a half hours from Cusco.  Train service is provided by PeruRail.       
• By road to Ollantaytambo, then by train to Machu Picchu Town. Allow three hours.  Train service is provided by PeruRail.      
  
• • Once in  Machu picchu Town a regular bus service operates between Machu Picchu Town and the Inca ruins where Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge is located. Allow 20 minutes    
• • Please note that there are no taxis from Machu Picchu Town to the Machu Picchu Citadel, the only form of transportation is on public buses. 
    
    

• By foot along the old Inca trail. Allow four or five days.
