Dear Friends at the Miraflores Park Hotel, Sanctuary Lodge, Monasterio Hotel & Orient-Express Family:

My name is Michael and I would like to share with you my most romantic moment of all time. My girlfriend Nadine and I were trying to decide on a destination for vacation.   We wanted a place with history, culture, excitement and romance.   Without hesitation, we decided on Peru.   I had been with Nadine for about four years and thought that Peru would be the perfect place to propose and ask for her hand in marriage.

Our trip included a tour of Lima (Miraflores Park Hotel), Cusco (Monasterio Hotel), Machu Picchu (Sanctuary Loge), Puno and back to Lima (Miraflores Park Hotel).   As you can imagine, it was very difficult to keep the ring a secret and hidden from her.   The next question was, when would be the most romantic moment to “pop the question”.   So on every tour I would bring her ring and wait patiently for the right moment.  

Finally, the time had come while visiting the ruins at Machu Picchu. It was dusk and the sun was slowly setting beyond the open valley.   Most of the tourist had left for the day and for one moment it seemed as though we had the whole place to ourselves.

Nadine and I were perched high upon a terrace sitting on a rock embracing the heat of the withering sunset.   Without her knowing, moments before I placed her ring box in between several stones at the top of the terrace wall which was located directly behind us.   When the moment was right, I asked Nadine if I could take a photo of her against the terrace wall.   As she positioned herself, I then asked her to move a loose stone so she would not get hurt.   Much to her apprehension she complied.   She then noticed a foreign object behind one of the stones.   As she opened the box I quickly got down on one knee and asked her if she would marry me. And that my friends is my most romantic moment of all time…….so far.  

By the way she said yes!!!

The romance soon continued when we arrived at the Miraflores Park Hotel with their incredible views of Miraflores and exceptional staff & service.   The trip has regretfully come to a close but the journey is now about to begin.
